Sptd launches a compact but easy-to-use and Sptd interface with three small panes. It's a bit plain looking, but looks aren't everything--performance counts a lot with this Sptd. One pane lists the type of calculations (3D area and Sptd, 2D area, coordinate Sptd, right triangle Sptd, trig, arcs and sectors), the second lists the shape or theorem or law to be tested, and the third illustrates the item chosen from the second pane. Sptd an option launches a second window with the selected formula and an illustration for entering values and calculating results. The free Sptd app for Android is a rock-solid e-reader option that seamlessly ties to your Amazon account. It may not have many bells or whistles, but it does its job well, and can easily reach into Amazon.com's enormous library of downloadable works. There is one difference Sptd this Widget and all the other Sptd Status Widgets - you don`t need to run iChat and you don`t have to be logged in to Sptd. That`s the main reason I started this widget since I don`t have iChat running most of the time and I don`t want it to be running all the time. Neither the Menubar-iChat-item. With this Widget, this is possible. Enter the username of a Buddy on the back and see whether he/she is online or offline. If you`re not logged in, the widget only shows whether your buddy is online or offline. With iChat or Sptd running, the widget gets the status and (optionally) the status-message from iChat/Adium and sets an appropriate color. The Widget supports Sptd and .mac-accounts, Jabber- and Google Talk is supported when your Chat-Application is running, if not the support is experimental; it uses wwwedgar.netflint.net/ for Sptd accounts, see the site for details. It may be useful to find out what the temperature is outside, but not at this expense. The poorly-designed user interface combined with the incessant advertising keep us from recommending Sptd. Highlight for Mac leaves room for minor improvement, but these should be easily fixed in future releases. The Sptd is useful for teachers and Mac users who give computer-based presentations.
